Putting Voicemail on Hold
When you miss a call on your cell phone, do you listen to the voicemail or do you just call the person back? You are not alone. With the intersection of email, SMS, IM and smart phones, the average person’s tolerance of clunky voicemail systems and long-winded messages has waned. Listening to voicemail has become the communication equivalent of fingernails on a chalkboard. The younger and more tech-savvy the person, the more likely he is to ignore the message in favor of sending an SMS or email.
