Bob possesses a passion for sales and marketing excellence spanning 35-plus years across a number of industries from financial services to telecommunications. In over nine years with Gumas, he has provided channel marketing insight, expertise and strategy to ultimately help clients sell more of their products or services. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from San Jose State University with a concentration in marketing. Currently, he resides on the peninsula with his bride Kathryn and their golden retriever. Bob’s daughter, Stacey, attends San Diego State University. How do you define great advertising?
I believe it's about messaging that connects with the audience in a manner that is so compelling that it invokes action or strong brand recognition.
What inspires your work?
For me, it’s an unquenchable desire to make a difference in the lives of the clients who place their trust in us.
What’s your favorite book and movie?
The Godfather, because the story encompassed so many life lessons applicable to business.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
As a student of both business and politics, I enjoy reading about either with equal passion.
Where were you born and raised?
Redwood City, California—I remember a small-town America right here in the middle of what is now a major megalopolis.
What’s the most unusual thing you know how to do?
I'd answer this question but I wouldn't want to make all the women of the world that envious of my wife.
