Rebecca has wanted to work in a creative environment since her teenage years, when she began watching MTV Italy. The network’s catchy graphics and bumper tunes made her dream of a “cool” job. She didn’t become a designer but instead joined the advertising industry’s account services department. Before landing at Gumas, Rebecca honed her social media marketing expertise working at a start-up company in the Bay Area. She holds a BA in Communication from Università degli Studi di Bologna and an MS in Integrated Marketing Communications from Golden Gate University, San Francisco.
How do you define great advertising?
Great advertising entails change. It changes the minds of consumers, their relationship with what is being advertised, and the market itself.
What inspires your work?
Setting expectations for a project and realizing they have been exceeded upon completion.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like being outdoors, trying out new restaurants with friends, practicing yoga and watching all kinds of movies—good and bad. But mostly I like to travel and experience new cultures.
Where were you born?
I was born in a small town in Northeast Italy. It’s a sweet spot—one hour from the mountains, one hour from the Adriatic Sea!
What’s the most unusual thing you know how to do?
I have a great memory for dates, facts and numbers—I can remember all my closest friends’ and family members’ birthdays and phone numbers!
